<p>A method for producing a halogen-substituted phthalide, which comprises the following steps (A) and (B). Step (A): A step wherein a halogen-substituted phthalic acid anhydride and sodium borohydride are reacted with each other in the presence of water in at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of ether solvents and alcohol solvents. Step (B): A step wherein some or all of the at least one solvent, which is selected from the group consisting of ether solvents and alcohol solvents and is contained in the reaction mixture obtained in the step (A), is substituted by an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent.</p> |
