<p>A method for producing a phenylcyclohexane of formula (I) by hydrogenating a biphenyl of formula (II), wherein R1 and R2 in formulae I and II each have the same meaning and, independently of one another, stand for a hydrogen atom, a C1-C10 alkyl group or a phenyl group, with hydrogen in the presence of Raney nickel, characterised in that the hydrogenation takes place in the presence of 0 to 20 parts by weight water to 100 parts by weight Raney nickel.</p> |
