A slider (100) for a slide fastener is provided with a slider body (105) in which an upper wing plate (110) and a lower wing plate (120) are connected on the front side through a connection column (130). The front end section (111) of the upper wing plate (110) is provided with a downwardly sloped surface (115) descending toward the lower wing plate (120) as the downwardly sloped surface (115) extends from the front opening (106) of the slider body (105) toward the rear opening (107) thereof. The front end section (121) of the lower wing plate (120) is provided with an upwardly sloped surface (125) ascending toward the upper wing plate (110) as the upwardly sloped surface (125) extends from the front opening (106) of the slider body (105) toward the rear opening (107) thereof. The gradient of the downwardly sloped surface (115) of the upper wing plate (110) is higher than the gradient of the upwardly sloped surface (125) of the lower wing plate (120).
