The constitution of the invention is such that, on at least one face among an upper face and a lower face of a laser medium (1), which is an isotropic medium having a refractive index nc, cladding (2) is joined, having a refractive index satisfying the relationship: no < nc < ne or ne < nc < no. This enables the selective output only of a polarized light for which the refractive index sensed at the cladding (2) is smaller than the refractive index nc, at a desired wavelength (for instance, 1,535 nm) achievable by applying the isotropic medium. |
