摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of improving torque by improving volume efficiency.SOLUTION: An engine includes: a plurality of independent flow passages 2 and 3 as well as 4 and 5 which are connected to identical cylinders 32, and which are different from one another in their cross-sectional areas; and flow passages 6 and 7 including collection parts 13 and 23 which are provided at an end part opposite to the side of the cylinders 32 of the plurality of independent flow passages 2 and 3 as well as 4 and 5, and in which all the independent flow passages 2 and 3 as well as 4 and 5 assemble. The engine also includes: a plurality of valves 36 and 39 as well as 42 and 45 which are each provided at the end part of the side of the cylinders 32 of the plurality of independent flow passages 2 and 3 as well as 4 and 5; and a variable valve mechanism capable of halting some of the plurality of valves 36 and 39 as well as 42 and 45 in a closed valve state. Furthermore, each of the plurality of independent flow passages 2 and 3 as well as 4 and 5 has a different ratio of the cross-sectional area to the length from the cylinders 32 to the collection parts 13 and 23.</p>
