<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape detection system capable of detecting a shape and an attitude of a soft and long object without enlarging a device scale and without making an outer diameter of an insertion part of an electronic endoscope thick.SOLUTION: A shape detection system includes a detection unit 11 for outputting data for detecting a shape and an attitude of a soft and long object, and a data processing unit 12 for processing data output from the detection unit 11. The detection unit 11 includes a first sensor 21 provided at a plurality of places in a longitudinal direction of the object for outputting data for detecting the shape of the object, and a second sensor 22 provided at one end of the object for outputting data for detecting the attitude of the object. The data processing unit 12 detects the shape and the attitude of the object with the second sensor 22 being a coordinate origin based on the data for detecting the shape of the object and the data for detecting the attitude of the object.</p> |
