摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an HC emission amount stably when an engine is temporarily driven in a CD mode travel (a travel on a motor).SOLUTION: A plug-in hybrid vehicle includes a motor-generator and an engine as vehicle drive sources, and travels only on the motor-generator in priority as a CD mode in the state of a battery being charged from an external power source. When a required output exceeds an output limit SL of the motor-generator 2 at time t1, the engine is operated at constant torque, with an output of the motor-generator changing in accordance with the required output. Maintaining the engine at constant torque makes it possible to obtain a temperature rise of catalyzer stably, reducing a tail pipe HC reliably.
