METHODS AND ARRANGEMENTS TO IMPROVE LINK WITH OUT-OF-BAND INFORMATION

Logic may facilitate the establishment and maintenance of a link in a 60 gigahertz band. Logic may determine via out-of-band information that a distance is not likely a reason for failure of a link in the 60 gigahertz band. Logic may determine via out-of-band information that the distance between devices is within a range of the link in the 60 gigahertz band. Logic may determine via out-of-band information that an orientation of one of the devices may be a cause of a poor or failed 60 GHz connection. Logic may display a message to a user related to possible issues with establishing or maintaining a 60 GHz connection. Logic may determine that refining a beamforming directional granularity may improve chances of maintaining a link in the 60 gigahertz band. And logic may synch devices via an out-of-band connection.

1. An apparatus to facilitate establishment of a link, the apparatus comprising:
a host Bluetooth® device; a physical layer device; logic coupled with the host Bluetooth® device and coupled with the physical layer device to determine establishment of a Bluetooth® connection between a first station and a second station; coupled with the physical layer device to determine a failure to establish a connection to between the first station and the second station via a link in a 60 gigahertz band; and to display a message indicative of a physical issue with establishing the link in the 60 gigahertz band, wherein the message is indicative of at least an orientation issue or an obstruction issue.
