Provided is a video decoding method comprising the steps of: obtaining, from a bitstream, segment representative value coding mode information indicating whether a segment representative value coding mode is allowed for a depth image; determining prediction mode information and partition mode information to be applied to a coding unit of the depth image; obtaining, from the bitstream, a segment representative value coding flag indicating whether the segment representative value coding mode is applied to the coding unit, depending on the segment representative value coding mode information, prediction mode information and partition mode information; obtaining, from the bitstream, a residual representative value corresponding to a predicted unit of the coding unit when the segment representative value coding flag indicates that the segment representative value coding mode is applied to the coding unit; and restoring a current block of the predicted unit using the residual representative value and predicted values of the predicted unit, wherein the residual representative value is obtained from a residual block of the predicted unit. |
