The invention relates to a vertical ammonia converter with catalytic beds, the vessel of which comprises an outer shell (1) and a tubular inner wall with a dual pipe for carrying effluent in the upstream direction and in the downstream direction, said tubular wall being made of a plurality of tubular elements placed in a ring following the perimeter of the inner wall of the outer shell, said tubular elements being formed from tubes with gas-tight walls (2, 3) leading effluent in the upstream direction, to which filtering media are attached (211, 222, 233; 321, 322; 333) at the height of a catalytic bed, the filtering media being closed at the bottom end thereof such as to guide effluent in the downstream direction and to diffuse same in said catalytic bed which is retained on the outer surface thereof. |
