<p>In one aspect of the invention, a PNS testing system may be used for peripheral nervous system (PNS) evaluations by generating a sequence of various stimuli through transducer(s) in contact with the skin. The peripheral stimulus is detected by receptors in the skin which produce electric signals in the form of action potentials which are then sent to the central nervous system (CNS). These action potentials produce a time varying voltage potential on the surface of the skin which can be detected with a plurality of skin electrodes.</p> |
