PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing damage of a casting roll in a thin plate manufacturing apparatus, capable of reducing the damage on a surface of the casting roll due to a foreign material.SOLUTION: In a device for preventing damage of a casting roll in a thin plate casting process in which the casting roll is pressed according to a pressure target value for maintaining a preset roll gap, the device for preventing damage of the casting roll in the thin plate manufacturing apparatus of a twin roll type includes: a rolling-reduction force measuring section for measuring a size of the rolling-reduction force of the casting roll; a foreign material-mixing determining section for determining whether the foreign material is mixed between the casting rolls on the basis of the measured size of the rolling-reduction force; a roll gap-instruction value generation section for generating a roll gap-instruction value generated by adding a predetermined amount of the roll gap to the preset roll gap when it is determined that the foreign material is mixed; and a roll gap control section for controlling the roll gap of the casting rolls on the basis of the generated roll gap-instruction value. |
