The present invention relates to a device and a method for recognizing an image. The device comprises: a camera for obtaining an image; a storing unit for storing storage images to recognize the obtained image; and a control unit for recognizing the obtained image by comparing similarity between a color histogram for the obtained image and a color histogram for the stored images.
