PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a gas barrier sheet excellent in gas barrier properties.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a gas barrier sheet which includes a resin base material, a gas barrier layer that is laminated on at least one surface side of the base material and contains a cellulose nanofiber, and a paper material that is laminated on at least the one surface side of the gas barrier layer. The method includes the steps of: applying a coating liquid containing a cellulose nanofiber onto at least one surface of the base material; laminating the paper material onto the surface of the base material to which the coating liquid has been applied; and drying the coating liquid. A temperature in the drying step is preferably 10°C or higher and 160°C or lower. A coating weight of the gas barrier layer is preferably 0.5 g/mor more and 30 g/mor less.
