A sample observation device is characterized by being provided with an illuminating optical system and an observation optical system, the illuminating optical system having a light source (1), a condensing lens (4), and an opening member (5), the observation optical system having an object lens (8), and an image forming lens (10), the opening member (5) having a light shielding part or a light reducing part, and a transmitting part, the transmitting part being disposed asymmetrically with respect to the optical axis of the illuminating optical system, an image of the inner edge of the transmitting part being formed inside of the outer edge of the pupil (9) of the object lens, and an image of the outer edge of the transmitting part being formed outside of the outer edge of the pupil (9) of the object lens. |
