An insufflator comprises: a pneumoperitoneum air delivery conduit which is connected to an insufflation gas source and delivers insufflation gas for pneumoperitoneum; an endoscope connection tube which connects the pneumoperitoneum air delivery conduit and an endoscope air delivery conduit which is provided inside an endoscope having a soft insertion portion; an air delivery flow rate measuring unit which measures the air delivery flow rate as a measured flow rate; a set flow rate setting unit which sets a set flow rate which aims at reaching the measured air delivery flow rate; an air delivery flow rate adjusting unit which, when the measured flow rate is not equal to the set flow rate, adjusts the air delivery flow rate to the endoscope air delivery conduit by changing an adjusted value; an adjusted value storage unit which, when the measured flow rate is equal to the set flow rate, stores the adjusted value of the air delivery flow rate adjusting unit; and a control unit which, when the measured flow rate changes to a threshold or less after the measured flow rate reaches the set flow rate, performs control to set the adjusted value read from the adjusted value storage unit in the air delivery flow rate adjusting unit. |
