The invention relates to a headphone having a headband (7), which is arc-shaped and spans a centre plane (2). The headphone has at least one spacer element (7b), which is connected fixedly to one end of the headband (7) and projects out of the centre plane (2), at least one articulation (1), which is fastened to the spacer element (7b) at a distance from the centre plane (2), and at least one ear cap (6), which is coupled in a pivotable manner to the spacer element (7b) by means of the at least one articulation (1). The articulation (1) is provided such that the pivot axis (1c) thereof is substantially perpendicular to the head surface of a user (9) of the headphone, such that the ear cap (6) can be pivoted by means of the articulation (1) from a first position, in which said ear cap covers an ear (9a) of the user (9), into a second position (6'), in which the ear (9a) is exposed.
