The present invention relates to a power control device for a construction machine, comprising: an engine connected to a hydraulic pump so as to drive the hydraulic pump; an engine control unit for controlling the engine, so as to increase an engine RPM command to a predetermined engine RPM and increase or decrease the engine RPM in a hysteresis form according to an engine load factor, when in a heavy-load mode, and to decrease the engine RPM command to the predetermined engine RPM and increase or decrease the engine RPM in the hysteresis form according to the engine load factor, when in a light-load mode; and a pump control unit for controlling the hydraulic pump by using a torque slope map in which engine dynamic characteristics are reflected.
