<p>An electrosurgical instrument according to the present invention comprises: a mode control unit; a high frequency generator; a switching unit; first, second, and ground cables, a hand piece, and a ground electrode pad. The mode control unit determines a voice command from a voice of an operator, and generates a mode control signal corresponding to an operation mode desired by the operator according to the determined voice command. In addition, the high frequency generator generates a high frequency output signal based on a waveform condition and setting of a voltage and a current which are specified by the mode control signal, and the switching unit sets a connection relationship between a signal output terminal of the high frequency generator and each of the first and second cables, and a connection relationship between a ground terminal of the high frequency generator and each of the second and ground cables. Accordingly, the first and second cables are connected to the hand piece commonly in a bipolar mode and a unipolar mode, thereby constituting a closed circuit for transmitting the high frequency output signal to the hand piece. In addition, the ground cable is connected to the ground electrode pad only in the unipolar mode.</p> |
