PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable imaging a still picture while imaging a moving image by setting imaging regions for the moving image and the still picture.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging unit including a plurality of pixels, and including a photoelectric converter unit for converting light into an electric charge and a readout unit for reading out a signal generated by the electric charge obtained through the photoelectric conversion in the photoelectric converter unit; a setting unit for setting a first mode to read out a signal, generated in the photoelectric converter unit, relative to a pixel included in a first region of the imaging unit in a manner to be different from a second mode to read out a signal, generated in the photoelectric converter unit, relative to a pixel included in a second region of the imaging unit; and a control unit for controlling the readout unit in a manner to read out the signal, generated in the photoelectric converter unit, relative to the pixel included in the second region in the second mode, while reading out the signal, generated in the photoelectric converter unit, relative to the pixel included in the first region in the first mode. |
