PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently vibrate a meniscus.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device includes an actuator for applying pressure to ink in an individual ink flow passage. The meniscus of a discharge port is vibrated in a degree of not discharging the ink by supplying a non-discharge driving signal to an individual electrode of the actuator. The non-discharge driving signal alternately includes an H signal of making electric potential of the individual electrode V0 and an L signal of making the electric potential of the individual electrode Vg. Thus, a plurality of pulses are included in the non-discharge driving signal. A time interval Wb of the pulses is a natural oscillation period or more of the individual ink flow passage, and is the length or less of adding two times of the length of a transition period until the electric potential of the individual electrode becomes the V0 from the Vg, to the natural oscillation period.
|
