PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a crystal based on a solution growth method capable of raising a crystal growth rate to improve crystal production efficiency, and to provide a crucible suitably used therein.SOLUTION: A crucible 6 includes: a container 8 having a recess 11 with a holding space 10 to hold a solution 5; and a suppressing member 9 for suppressing heat release of the solution 5 that is located at an area from the marginal part of the container 8 to the central part of the container 8 in the top view so as to cover at least a part of the holding space 10 in the recess 11 of the container 8. The suppressing member 9 has a passing hole 12 which penetrates between a top surface and a bottom surface at the central part thereof and through which a seed crystal 3 passes, and a perforation 13 which penetrates between the top surface and the bottom surface around the passing hole 12. A bottom side opening of the perforation 13 is located at the more central side of a liquid surface of the solution 5 than a top side opening so as not to overlap with the top side opening in the vertical direction. The central part of the liquid surface of the solution 5 is visible from above the suppressing member 9 through the perforation 13 when the recess 11 of the container 8 holds the solution 5.
