摘要 Fabrication of a posable physical embodiment from an articulated deformable model is made possible by first transforming a deformable surface volumetric model to a segmented, rigid volume model including identifying a plurality of rigid, linked segments. The rigid volume model approximates the deformable surface volumetric model. Linkage structures (i.e., hinges, ball joints) coupling pairs of the rigid, linked segments are then automatically determined.
