PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions and methods for the therapy and diagnosis of influenza.SOLUTION: The invention provides compositions, vaccines, and methods for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of influenza infection using a combination of antibodies produced against an influenza hemagglutinin and Matrix 2 ectodomain polypeptide. The invention also provides compositions for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment containing a human antibody produced against an epitope of an influenza hemagglutinin protein, and a human monoclonal antibody produced against an epitope of an influenza M2 protein. And these compositions are pharmaceutical compositions comprising pharmaceutical carriers. These compositions strongly neutralize influenza virus infection, as well as deal with the necessity over many years in this technical field about the pharmaceutical compositions which recognize a constant region in a protein common to all influenza strains.
