PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner for imaging probe which is used for imaging a tissue or structure of a mammal by using high resolution imaging including high frequency ultrasonic and/or optical coherence tomography.SOLUTION: An imaging probe 150 has an adjustable rotation drive mechanism for giving rotational movement to an imaging assembly which stores light radiating energy to a peripheral area or an ultrasonic transducer. The imaging assembly includes a scanner which has a movable member configured to transmit an energy beam along a path on the outer side of a slender hollow shaft at various angles to a longitudinal shaft, and gives front and side view performance of the imaging assembly. The movable member is attached with such a method that a variable angle is a function of angular velocity of the imaging assembly.
