PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery of high capacity, chargeable in short time, and manufacturable at low cost by using a positive electrode active material capable of performing a multi-electron oxidation reduction reaction in charging/discharging of an organic secondary battery.SOLUTION: The positive electrode active material is an organic compound containing a dicyanoquinonemethide structure and is capable of performing a multi-electron oxidation reduction reaction in charging/discharging of an organic secondary battery.
