<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian protection device which effectively inhibits a peak of a head G waveform from occurring when a vehicle collides with a pedestrian.SOLUTION: A pedestrian protection device 10 of a cab-over type vehicle 1 includes: a front panel 12 disposed on a cab front surface located below a front window; a front grille 13 disposed on the cab front surface located below the front panel 12; a pedestrian detection device 20 which detects a pedestrian at the vehicle front side; a rotation mechanism 30 which rotates the front grille 13 to a front surface of the front panel 12; and an activation determination device 40 which determines the possibility of a collision with the pedestrian on the basis of a detection result of the pedestrian detection device 20 and activates the rotation mechanism 30 when it is determined that there is a possibility of the collision.</p> |
