A location method and a user equipment are provided in the embodiments of the present invention. The location method includes: a first user equipment determines a location authorization condition for locating a second user equipment, the location authorization condition comprises location time information or location position information codetermined by the first user equipment and the second user equipment; the first user equipment locates the second user equipment under the location authorization condition, and obtains the position information of the second user equipment. By negotiating the location authorization condition between the location user equipment and the user equipment to be located, the location method and user equipment of the embodiment of the present invention can effectively protect the privacy of the user equipment to be located while the location user equipment locates others, and the user experience is improved.
