<p>Provided is a light emitting tube supporting structure in a ceramic metal halide lamp, said supporting structure having a simple structure, and being capable of eliminating breakage of a capillary section of a light emitting tube. This ceramic metal halide lamp has a translucent outer tube, a light emitting tube, electrode leads, a power supplying lead line, and a frame. A supporting structure for supporting the light emitting tube is provided to one of the two electrode leads, and the supporting structure has a metal plate having one end thereof connected to the electrode lead, and the other end thereof connected to the power supplying lead line or to the frame. The longitudinal direction of the metal plate is in the direction orthogonal to an axis line of the capillary section, and the width direction of the metal plate is disposed along the axis line of the capillary section.</p> |
