PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small-sized zoom lens capable of exhibiting high optical performance at a high zoom ratio in an entire zoom range.SOLUTION: A zoom lens comprises, in order from an object side to an image side, a first lens group having positive refractive power; a second lens group having negative refractive power; a third lens group having positive refractive power; and a fourth lens group having positive refractive power, the respective lens groups moving at a time of zooming from a wide angle end to a telephoto end. The first lens group comprises three or less lenses, the second lens group comprises four or less lenses, the third lens group comprises four or less lenses, the fourth lens group comprises two or less lenses, and a lateral magnification &bgr;3w of the third lens group at the wide angle end, a lateral magnification &bgr;3t of the third lens group at the telephoto end, a focal length f3 of the third lens group, and a focal length ft of an entire system at the telephoto end are appropriately set, respectively. |
