<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger capable of easily bending side plates while a line parallel to the longitudinal direction of header tanks is set as a bend center.SOLUTION: Side plates 7 of a condenser 1 each include a band plate portion 26 and protruding wall portions 27 provided on both side edges of the band plate portion 26 in an air flow direction, respectively. A through-hole 28 is formed in a part of an intermediate between the band plate portions 26 of the two side plates 7 in a longitudinal direction so as to have a width identical to an entire width of each band plate portion 26 and to have a certain length in the longitudinal direction of the band plate portions 26. Bend assisting portions 29 are provided in parts of the respective protruding wall portions 27 facing the through-hole 28 for assisting in bending each side plate 7 by bending each protruding wall portion 27 toward the other protruding wall portion 27 into a V-shape while a line O parallel to a longitudinal direction of header tanks 3, 4 and placed within the through-hole 28 is set as a bend center. The entire bend assisting portions 29 are placed within a range of the through-hole 28 in the longitudinal direction of each band plate portion 26.</p> |
