<p>The invention relates to a method for mechanically and morphologically nanocharacterising fibrous material in a cellulose production line, which makes it possible to assess and minimise mechanical damage to the fibres, thus improving the quality of the end product, which includes the steps of: a) selecting packets of fibres extracted from samples and leaving same in the dryer (1); b) selecting fibres and aligning same parallel with the diamond tip of a nanoindenter (7); c) mounting the fibres in a sample holder (3) in order to apply Spurr low-viscosity epoxy resin; d) drying the impregnated fibres by applying a vacuum; e) drying the fibres dried previously in step d) for a longer time; f) cutting the dry samples covered with resin at the upper end thereof, leaving a truncated surface in order subsequently to make cuts therein; g) mounting the samples having a clean, smooth surface on a plate and carrying same to the nanoindenter (7); h) determining the damage factor associated with the modulus of elasticity and the reason for change associated with the hardness; and i) determining a damage factor and an overall reason for change by adding the results obtained in step h).</p> |
