PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive device suitable for use as a camera-shake correcting device, a camera module including the lens drive device, and a camera.SOLUTION: A lens drive device that displaces a lens holder in an optical axis direction and a direction orthogonal to an optical axis comprises: an assembly in which the lens holder is assembled together with magnets arranged around the lens holder; coils that are arranged in positions, inside a housing for housing the assembly, facing the magnets and that displaces the assembly in the direction orthogonal to the optical axis in cooperation with the magnets; and a base that forms the bottom of the housing and includes an opening having a size larger than that of a displaced range of the optical axis caused by the displacement of the assembly in the direction orthogonal to the optical axis.
