<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a variable valve mechanism which can suppress the local wear of a cam face in a holding zone in which a valve characteristic is held.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises a variable valve mechanism 600 which comprises: a variable mechanism part 300 which changes a valve characteristic of an intake valve 31; a control shaft 340 which operates the variable mechanism part 300; a cam 530 which abuts on the control shaft 340, and moves the control shaft 340 to an axial direction; a motor 210 which turns the cam 530; and a reduction mechanism 220 which transmits the rotation of the motor 210 to the cam 530. A holding zone in which a displacement amount of the control shaft 340 is constant and the valve characteristic is held is arranged at the cam face of the cam 530. When the valve characteristic is held by using the cam face of the holding zone, a motor control device 150 turns the cam 530 by a prescribed angle by carrying electricity to the motor 210.</p> |
