Novel methods for consumer guidance and controls are provided coupled with graphic user interfaces for mobile applications, websites, and electric vehicle point of sale terminals.

1. A system for communication between at least one electric vehicle (EV) charging station and a user device comprising:
a revenue grade electric meter coupled to the at least one EV charging station and configured for network-based communication with the user device and/or an EV; and the user device including an interactive interface operable for displaying information related to the at least one EV charging station and operable for receiving inputs, wherein the inputs are automatically associated with a user profile.
