A tactile sensation providing device (1) is equipped with: a contact detection unit (20) which detects contact; pressure detection units (42, 44) which detect the pressure applied to the contact detection unit (20); a plurality of vibration units (52—58) which vibrate the contact detection unit (20); and a control unit (10) which, when data that is based on the pressure detected by the pressure detection units (42, 44) satisfies predetermined criteria, performs control to vibrate the plurality of vibration units (52—58) in different manners so that the contact object pressed against the contact detection unit (20) is provided with a desired tactile sensation produced at the location where the contact object is in contact with the contact detection unit (20). |
