<p>The invention relates to methods for producing sulphur from hydrogen sulphide-containing gases and for purifying gases of hydrogen sulphide to produce sulphur, and can be used in the oil and gas industry, the oil refining industry and the chemical industry. Proposed is a method for producing sulphur by the catalytic direct oxidation of hydrogen sulphide with oxygen at 250-300°С in two or more stages, in which oxidation is carried out with the removal of reaction heat from the volume of the catalyst, the initial stages of oxidation are carried out at 250-300°С and a volumetric flow rate of 12000-36000 sec-1, and the final stage of oxidation is carried out at 250-280°С and a volumetric flow rate of 900-3600 sec-1, a hydrogen sulphide-containing gas being introduced into the first oxidation stage and an oxygen-containing gas being introduced into each oxidation stage, wherein at the final oxidation stage, the oxygen-containing gas is introduced in an amount that provides a stoichiometric proportion of oxygen and hydrogen sulphide. The technical result is a more broadly applicable method, increased selectivity of oxidation, reduced material requirements of the equipment and reduced energy consumption.</p> |
