<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control deterioration of fuel consumption when a braking force is output when the gas pedal is off. <P>SOLUTION: When the gas pedal is off while the B position or the S position is selected as a shift position SP, and when driving in the eco-mode, the target rotation speed Ne of the engine 22 is set low, while the request braking torque Tr * is set small compared with the normal mode (S160-S190), and the motors MG1 and MG2 are controlled so that the request braking torque Tr* may act on an annular gear axis 32a within the range of the input limit Win of the battery 50, while the engine 22 rotates by target rotation speed Ne* of motoring of the engine 22 by the motor MG1 while the fuel injection is stopped (S200-S240).
