<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cup holder to be used by lowering a cup tray to a housing part of a base member, configured to prevent a container from turning over and to allow the container to be easily stored in the housing part. <P>SOLUTION: In the cup holder H, a regulator 50 is located at a standby position for placing a container C on a cup tray 30 until an allowable time elapses in which the cup tray 30 moved by a drive motor and located in a non-use position reaches a position in the middle from the non-use position to a use position.
