The end cap (1) has a fastening unit that enables fastening of the profile housing into a cabinet system. A guide (4) is arranged on a side of the end cap main portion, opposite to the profile housing such that the fastening unit is arranged at the end cap main portion through the guide. The fastening unit is directly arranged at the end cap main portion through insertion of the fastening unit in the guide by an insertable adapter (11). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) mounting system for fastening profile housing into cabinet system; and (2) method for fastening profile housing into cabinet system.
