A server sends content data to at least one wireless access point wherein the wireless access point stores the content data. The wireless access point establishes a wireless connection with at least one user device when the user device moves into range of the wireless access point. A page request process is invoked on the user device thereby causing the user device to send a page request to the wireless access point. The wireless access point sends the content data to the user device in response to the page request from the user device. The page request process may be captive portal process. The content data may be sent from the wireless access point to the user device whilst the wireless access point is disconnected from the server. The content may include video content data of a first format and the video content data may be transcoded, at the wireless access point, to generate a video content data of a second format. The content data may be a web page. |
