A jacket, suitable for use by a cyclist, comprises reflective materials 701, 702, electrically powered illuminating devices 109, 110, and directional indicator devices 103, 104. A detection device is configured to identify the raising of the users arm and an indicator light 103, 104 is configured to indicate in response to the raising of the arm. The system is applicable to both right and left sides of the jacket. A delay circuit maintains activation of these lights 103, 104 for a period of time following the movement. A power supply and a control circuit are supported in a pocket provided in the jacket. Wires connecting the power supply, the detection devices and the indicators are sown into the seams of the jacket. In use, the jacket provides enhanced visibility for user whilst riding in traffic and at night. |
