<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of implementing an automatic stop for carrying out scenario shooting. <P>SOLUTION: In an imaging apparatus, a scenario storage part 113 stores scenario data including scene name and recommended shooting time on each of a plurality of scenarios. In a scenario shooting mode, a user selects a scenario to be applied for a shooting from the scenario data. When an automatic stop is specified for the scenario shooting mode, a control part 107 allows the user to select a recording time to stop automatically and to determine whether it should be linked to the recommended shooting time of the scenario shooting. When the scenario linkage is selected, the control part 107 sets the selected scenario recommended shooting time for the automatic stop recording time.
