<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize: a charging device having contact/separation means for contacting/separating a charger relative to an image carrier and including a drive source for moving a cleaning member disposed to the charger arranged externally to the charger, with a simple configuration enabling the cleaning member to be moved with the driving force of the drive source; and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A connection portion 168 of a cleaning member 160 is supported relatively movably in a contact/separation direction with respect to a reciprocal moving member 158 supported by a lead shaft 156, and thereby the positions of the lead shaft 156 and reciprocal moving member 158 are unchanged even if a charger 100 is located in a charging position or a retracting position. Therefore, in a case where a drive source for moving the cleaning member 160 disposed on the charger 100 along a discharge wire 104 is disposed externally to the charger 100, the cleaning member 160 can be moved with the driving force of the drive source with a simple configuration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
