The device has a spring element (19) suppressing a rail base (6) at a side that faces a slide plate (7). The spring element is guided into a tunnel shaped recess (20) in the slide plate, where the recess extends perpendicular to a stock rail (5). The slide plate is designed as a component that is separated from a spacer plate (3). The slide plate is held in a through-hole of the spacer plate. The slide plate is tensioned against a stopper surface of a protrusion unit (15) via the spring element. The slide plate lies on an elastic support pad (3). An independent claim is also included for a switch point comprising a stock rail.
