<p>The present invention enables an exhaust gas purification system that supplies a gaseous reducing agent to an exhaust gas purification catalyst provided in an exhaust passage to control the amount of supply of the reducing agent to the exhaust gas purification catalyst with high accuracy. In this invention, an adding apparatus adds the gaseous reducing agent to exhaust gas flowing through a portion of the exhaust passage upstream of the exhaust gas purification catalyst. The pressure of adding the reducing agent from the adding apparatus to the exhaust gas is controlled in accordance with an operating condition of the internal combustion engine.</p> |
