<p>The present invention provides for a method for spinning a reinforced cellulosic fibre or filament, comprising the steps of: a. forming a composite spinning solution comprising inorganic reinforcing particles, a cellulosic base material and a process solvent, b. extruding the composite spinning solution through an orifice into a regeneration fluid such as to form the reinforced cellulosic fibre or filament, wherein the composite spinning solution is formed by dissolving the cellulosic base material in the process solvent and distributively dispersing the inorganic reinforcing particles in the process solvent and wherein the inorganic reinforcing particles have an aspect ratio of 1.25:1 or more, preferably of 1.5 or more and more preferably of 10:1 or more.</p> |
