A computer controlled support and stabilisation unit is provided. The computer controlled support unit comprises: a vertical array of magnets 10, 11, 16, 17 for levitating a flywheel 7 containing fluid 47; a computer controlled adjustable bearing support means 26 that can clamp and unclamp the rotating centre shaft 15 of a flywheel 7 containing fluid between a plurality of bearings 28, 29; and a computer controlled adjustable magnetic lifting support means 31. The magnetic lifting support means 31 being able to lift the flywheel 7 containing fluid to reduce the forces placed on the vertical array of magnets 10, 11, 16, 17 for levitating a flywheel 7 containing fluid and reduce the forces placed on the plurality of bearings 28, 29 clamping the rotating centre shaft of a flywheel 7 containing fluid. |
