<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glycol compound which has a high refractive index and a low Abbe number and can obtain a satisfactory optical lens by molding, a polyester resin, and an optical lens which is obtained by molding the polyester resin. <P>SOLUTION: The new glycol compound has an acenaphthenone structure. The polyester resin is obtained from the glycol compound. The optical lens is obtained by molding the resin. In the polyester resin, 40 to 90 mol% in a diol unit is a unit derived from ethylene glycol, and 1 to 60 mol% in a diol unit is a unit derived from diol having an acenaphthenone structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
