[Also in Group XXXIV] A method of making needle bearing cages 1 having needles individually guided in pockets comprises forming paraxial slots 2, preferably by stamping, deforming the material at the sides of the slots along the whole, or parts of the, length thereof to form projections 6, 7 by means of a press die 3 and members 4, 5, inserting the needles, and then pressing back the projections 7 over the needles. The projections 6 may be formed at the inner side of the cage and the projections 7 at the outer side. The member 4 may be replaced by the needles.</p> |
